("MMS"), founded in 1987 to provide medical review services and acquired by HMA, INC. in 1993, is headquartered in Tempe, Arizona and is a wholly owned subsidiary of HMA, INC.   MMS is now a leading healthcare management company focused on improving the office performance of physician practices.

Medical Management Services, Inc. began as a regional medical management organization providing utilization review, quality assessment, performance improvement and large case management to both self-funded and fully insured health plans. HMA, INC. acquired MMS for their systems, processes and key staff members to further its strategic direction of becoming a fully integrated management company. Over time, MMS was fully assimilated into the HMA organization. As a result, HMA, INC. today is widely recognized as The Integrated Health Care Management Company.
